If you stay near a particular landmark in a heavily congested tourist area, wherever it may be, you will notice groups of people stopping and taking the same picture. Something that brings you to question the prevalence of identical images saturating peoples hard drives.
Upon arriving in Las Vegas, Richard chose not to photograph with the barrage of tourists photographing the strip that runs through the centre of Las Vegas. Seeing this, Richard had grown accustomed to these images through TV and film and chose to seek something different.

Negating all of the usual photos of the statues, water features and miles of casinos, Richard found his interest in the back streets of Las Vegas. For Richard to explore these streets it was like seeing behind the curtain, going backstage. Photographing the people he encountered and the significance he saw in the places he explored, Richard makes us feel like this is the real Las Vegas.
